The Art of Layering in The Gentlewoman Issue 33

Saved because: I bought the current issue of The Gentlewoman with Solange as the cover star back in March, and these images instantly caught my eye. I love the torso framing, it reminds me of trying to take the perfect shot of your outfit in the car, lol. Shot by Janneke Van der Hagen and styled by Stuart Williamson, ‘Get Set’ features excellent layering from the spring collections and killer jewelry. Chose this Martine Rose rugby shot as it felt appropriate with the World Cup final on this week ;). Would wear this outfit urgently.

Striped Piaget Watches

Saved because: The inlay on each of these watches instantly reminded me of a bag of licorice allsorts. Because if something doesn’t remind you of candy, is it even worth your time? But really, these vintage Piaget watches are from the 1970s, and the stone faces are referred to as a “maze” style. If you have £12k, the leather strap one could be yours! I’ll keep dreaming…

Josef Frank Lamp, Early 20th Century

Saved because: This is a recent pin I keep coming back to. Though its from over 100 years ago, it feels so entirely modern. The hue of the shades are calling me. When it comes to lighting, I’m finding myself drawn to soft, fabric shades versus too much structure. This creation is so whimsical and would feel at home in a library or reading room.

Earth Girls by Tim Walker, Dec 1998

Saved because: Glastonbury is 100% a bucket list item for me. The famous English festival is on its break this year, with the return set for 2027 at Worthy Farm. In general, my style is heavily influenced by British culture, and the fashion that comes out of Glasto is up there. I always love the ability to take make high/low work, and this shoot from the late 90s by Tim Walker perfectly captures that. I could totally see Alexa Chung wearing this (now) vintage John Galliano crystal dress with wellies and a work jacket. She also kind of did that for Burberry’s festival campaign last year. Love. Still obsessed with Alexa’s yellow silk Doen moment, too. The brand still has a similar-ish version of it here.

Marni Pre-Fall Kitten Heels

Saved because: I’ve been urgently awaiting Meryll Rogge’s first Marni pieces to hit the market. Her Fall 2026 debut is what the weird girls like myself have urgently been waiting for, and this pair of lace-up kitten heels doesn’t disappoint. If I had a spare $1400 right now, I would 100% be purchasing these. The laces are the perfect detail to “quirk” up a slingback.

Floral Braided Hair at Kenzo F/W ‘11

Saved because: This braided hair moment at Kenzo F/W ‘11 feels like the perfect transition between summer and fall. The earth tones of the silk flowers are the ideal palette. Found via The Quiet Botanist, who always has the most wonderful floral inspiration <3 and stories.
