Hi! I’m Maddie Sensibile-Yazzetta. Most of you probably know me (hello fam n friends and thank you for being here.) If you don’t know me, I’m 30, a San Fernando Valley native, and I have a career as a social media lead. I recently married Matt, my partner and now husband, whom I’ve been with for nearly 10 years.
Mad For It is not necessarily something new, but it’s an iteration of something I’ve been doing since I was 15. I used to have a fashion blog called Obsessee, which I later sold to Clique Media at 21. I created it during winter break during my (I think?) sophomore year of high school. I never thought it would be a huge stepping stone for me in terms of the success I was able to achieve, and helped me create both an online and IRL community, creating friendships I still have nearly a decade and a half on.
What I’m trying to get at is that I’ve always loved sharing my thoughts and musings online, and I thought, why stop? I recently returned from a honeymoon in London and the Cotswolds, and my mind finally feels clear again after a 2-year period of far too many ups and downs in my career and, subsequently, physical and mental health. I realize I function best when I have a creative outlet. So here is Mad For It.
The name is a nod to my first name, but over the last few years, I’ve developed a deep love for Oasis, especially the icon that is Liam Gallagher. He said that his most overused phrase of the ‘90s was “mad for it,” in a Vogue 73 Questions video he filmed in Hampstead Heath. Great phrase, and even better when you imagine it in his Mancunian accent. The name Obsessee that I came up with as a teenager was a nod to being an “obsessee” of something, which is still deeply who I am. I get obsessed with so many different things. I latch on to them, and it creates the tapestry of me!!!
Mad For It feels like a natural progression.
I’ll aim to share new Mad For It issues twice a month. I don’t have a hard and fast format for it yet, but who needs one? I’ll be sharing what’s on my mind in the form of things I’m “mad for,” whether it’s a movie, shopping selects, runway collection, skincare item, fashion photo story, book, album, archaeological discovery, or recent absurd purchases like my infrared heating pad with tourmaline in it, because you too can have it all! The first full issue is coming in a few days.
